The rules of the cave, how we treat your information, how to reach us, and the people whose work we use.

Terms of use
By playing GrottoCamp you agree to these terms.
1. Using GrottoCamp
GrottoCamp is a free browser game made by AUDDCONCEPT. You may play it for your own personal enjoyment. You do not need an account to play. We may change, pause or remove any part of the game at any time.
2. Your account
An account is optional. If you create one, you must give a real email address that you can access, and keep your password private. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
3. Ownership
GrottoCamp, its name, logo, artwork, code and design belong to AUDDCONCEPT. Some sounds and software come from other people and are used under their own licences. See Credits. Playing the game gives you the right to play it, not to own any part of it.
4. Health and safety
The game contains darkness, sudden sounds, camera shake and flashing effects, and themes of fear and isolation. If you are sensitive to flashing light or motion, play with care and take breaks. Stop playing if you feel unwell. Phones and tablets are played sideways, so make sure you are somewhere safe and not walking or driving.
5. Availability
We try to keep GrottoCamp running smoothly, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, error-free or compatible with your device. Saved progress that lives only on your device can be lost if you clear your browser data.
6. No warranty
GrottoCamp is provided “as is”, without any promise that it will meet your needs or be free of faults.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the new version.
Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, where it goes, and what you can do about it.
1. Who we are
GrottoCamp is operated by AUDDCONCEPT (www.auddconcept.com). For anything about your information, write to hell@grottocamp.com.
2. The short version
- You can play without an account. Then we do not ask for, receive or store any personal information about you.
- If you create an account, your email address and password go to our sign-in service, and we keep the name, avatar and gender you choose.
- We never sell your information, and we never share it for advertising.
3. What stays on your own device
To remember your choices, the game saves a few things in your browser's own storage. This stays on your device and is not sent to us unless it is part of an account described below:
- the gear you packed and the cave you chose;
- your graphics setting and whether the key bar is shown;
- a number that records how much treasure you have taken from the mountain (it decides how many stalkers wait for you);
- anonymous play totals: when an expedition ends, the game adds one to three public counters (expeditions played, Heart Gems found, escapes). The counters hold no name, account, device or other personal data, and apply to guests too;
- your explorer profile and expedition history, if you create a profile: your name, avatar, the email you typed, and an optional picture. A picture you add is shrunk and kept only on your device;
- a random player ID that the game creates for your device, so it can tell guests and accounts apart. It is not linked to your name;
- if you choose “Keep me logged in”, your sign-in session, so you stay signed in;
- copies of the game's own files (pictures, sounds, models and code), which let the game open faster and work with a weak connection.
You can remove all of this at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
4. If you create an account
An account is optional. When you sign up, these details are processed:
- Email address and password. They are handled by our sign-in service, Supabase. Your password is stored only as a protected, one-way hash, and we cannot read it.
- Name, gender and avatar choice. You pick these when you sign up. They are saved with your account. Gender is used only to draw your avatar. It is never shown to other players.
- Google sign-in. If you choose “Sign in with Google”, Google tells us your name and email address so we can create your account. Google's own privacy policy applies to what Google does.
Right now your explorer profile and expedition history are kept on your device. When saving them to your account is switched on, they will be stored in our database, only you will be able to read them, and we will update this policy first.
5. Why we use your information
- To create and run your account, and to let you sign in: this is needed to give you what you asked for.
- To keep GrottoCamp secure, fix problems and prevent abuse: this is in our legitimate interest in running a safe service.
- For Google sign-in and any optional picture or details you choose to add: this is with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
6. How long we keep it
Account details are kept for as long as your account exists, and are deleted when you ask us to delete the account. Technical logs are kept by our hosting and sign-in providers for a limited time, according to their own settings. Data stored on your device stays there until you clear it.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, give you a copy, or stop using it. If we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your explorer profile (“Delete account”), which removes it and the information tied to it from our database. To use any other right, or if you cannot delete it yourself, email hell@grottocamp.com from the address you signed up with. We will answer as soon as we can, and within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Children
GrottoCamp is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as GrottoCamp grows, for example when we add saving to your account. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will tell account holders about important changes.
10. Questions
Write to hell@grottocamp.com and we will help.
